Should uniforms be mandatory in schools?
Uniforms don't allow students to express their personality, individuality, or even to get more wear out of their new clothes....
The solution to illegal immigration requires enforcement of our current laws

Some argue that the status quo is de facto amnesty because it is extremely impractical to round up at least 12 million illegal immigrants and deport them. Those who say that are right as far as their reason, but off in saying that the status quo is de facto amnesty. Here's what we could do to solve the problem, and it would require nothing more than modest enforcement of our current laws: 1. Finish the fence across the whole border 2. Beef up manpower security at the border 3. Deport those...
Should the United States withdraw it's troops from Iraq?
American troops have been in Iraq for several years now. Although the defeat of Saddam and the Iraq military was relatively easy, the stabilization of the country in the aftermath has been anything but easy. Thousands of American troops have died, and Iraqi civilians continue to get caught in terrorist and cross-cultural attacks on a daily basis. The U.S. continues to progress in its attempt to help the Iraqis become politically and militarily self-sufficient, but most Democrats and much of the...
Outsourcing. Sorry I had my tonsils out and was not able to respond to our previous debate in time.

Daxitarian to your first point you are absolutely missing the point of what it is to be american. 1st the price of the goods produced does not have to go up, instead the salaries and benefits of the ceo and other upper management would go down. I am not advocating socialism just a decrease in this upper elite's profits. in every other country in the world a ceo makes seven times that of the average worker. In america the average ceo makes anywhere from 248-436 times what the average worker do...
Humans have not advanced beyond their technology for its entire existence.

Is this an impossible idea? Seemingly so, but it's not. That is my position. People, primarily those of homo-sapien decent, like to imagine that they are the most advanced creature on the planet. The top predator, the best melder of the world around it, the most intelligent. But is this really so? Look at your body. Do you see claws? How about fangs? Poison quills? I sure don't. Odd, these traits are usually found in dangerous predators in the natural world. Well, we'll come back to that. I assu...
It is better to just poop fast rather than wait, if you don't have a book
I believe it is much better to push hard, and get the poop over with, rather than sit there and relax. Relaxing, and waiting is much more time consuming, and often the poop clings, making you shake your butt a little to get the little straggler off. However, if you just poop it out, you can return to your everyday life, and enjoy the rest of your day, claiming you have accomplished an impossible feat. On the contrary, if you have a book, you can read about other people, and before you know it, "...
Police profiling is collectivist, un-American, unconstitutional, and ineffective.

I am challenging my opponent, Daxitarian, to this debate because I agree with him on so many issues -- and yet I am shocked to see his support for "police profiling." I argue against "profiling" on philosophical, moral, legal, and utilitarian grounds. (By the way: This bout is schedule for two rounds, not three). 1. "Profiling" is collectivist: This is self-evident. Profiling is premised on the notion that human beings are not individuals, but rather, members of groups. Collectivism is the ro...
Outsourcing jobs is common in todays world Do you agree or disagree with this practice?

Outsourcing jobs outside of the country for cheap labor is wrong and un-American. Conservatives and chicken hawks who claim to be patriots, but vote to outsource jobs to cheaper markets and in turn take those jobs away from hard working American families, are hypocritical, bad for our country, and detrimental to our society....
Should we establish more government funding to support artistic projects?

Contrary to capitalist beliefs, the arts provides intellectual insight and personal reflection unlike any other particular center of study. But, for some reason, the arts are heavily underfunded. . .especially theatre. More and more senators are concerned with students knowing how to calculate numbers and know how to construct a nuclear bomb, but they don't seem to be concerned that our students will not be able to compete in the true forum, the academia forum. If Hollywood can find all this mon...
Supporting Ron Paul is a fad and considered "cool" by college students.

Recently I have gone from detesting Ron Paul, to detesting Ron Paul supporters. Most Ron Paul supporters are college kids who don't know much or even care much about politics but are absolutely in love with Ron Paul. It speaks for America's youth that a candidate can get support by merely including the word "love" on his banners in a semi-clever way and name dropping websites like google and youtube. Are my peers so impressionable? Or is it just that I live in red state Arizona? This is le...
