Strict constructionist judges should not be appointed to the United States Supreme Court

Greetings, In this debate, I will be arguing that strict constructionist judges should not be appointed to the United States Supreme Court. Definition: Strict constructionism – legal philosophy of judicial interpretation that requires a judge to apply the text as it is written and no further, once the meaning of the text has been ascertained. In this debate, here are my main arguments: By appointing strict constructionist judges to the United States Supreme Court, only the o...
The state is not necessary in a capitalist society

Capitalism can effectively substitute, if not exceed, any service the state provides, including a police force, fire control, judicial system, ect. I await my opponent's rebuttal, and wish him the best of luck....
"The Game" Causes an equal loss in both the "Loser(s)" and the "Instigator(s)"

WHEN the following conditions are met "The Game" follows these three rules. 1. Everybody in the world who knows about the Game, is playing the Game. 2. Whenever you think about The Game, you lose. 3. Loss must be announced. WHEN ALSO The "Instigator" is defined as "The person who causes any other person to lose the game, intentionally or unintentionally" AND WHEN the "Loser" is defined as somebody who has met the first condition of rule 1 (that they know that they are pl...
Universal Health Care

Universal Health Care is good thing. It defends our right to life, that is sometimes taken away in the name of corporate profits. I talk later about everything that needs to be covered. And please for the love of god, do not write a novel in response to my arguments. It is hardly required....

Universal Health Care

America is the greatest nation in the World. As I am disappointed by the why our "leaders" have handle this country the past 8 years, and even beyond that, I can still say I love my country. That being said, why doesn't America provide free health care to all of it's citizens? My point here that will be debated is that Health Care is a human right, and America should not have profits leading our health system. We are the only westeren civilized nation that uses profits as the main motivat...
In-school suspension for fighting is better than out-of-school suspension.

I believe in-school suspension is better because most kids want to be out of school anyway, so I think of it as a punishment....
Industrial Hemp could save our Economy

The problem: Our economy is in crisis. The US government over the span of the last 100 years has perverted the purpose and responsibility of the United States to meet their own selfish and greedy desires. It all started with the criminalization of Industrial Hemp i.e.: Reefer Madness, DuPont family, and corrupt elected officials. Because of decisions that were made 100 years ago, events have been set in motion which have led to the biggest crisis of Capitalism in our nations history. I submi...
Telemarketing should be banned

Many people are receiving unwelcome phone calls from solicitors, and it is simply wrong. The telemarketing companies have found loopholes in the "Do Not Call" registries, or have even knowingly and unlawfully violated such state administered acts. It is time to ban telemarketing and make it illegal....
If a president has an approval rating of 33% then they should honorably resign.

Hello, I would like to clarify that I intend for this debate NOT to be specific to George W. Bush. This is a debate about presidents in general, whether they are democrats or republicans… When you are president, in this democracy, your solemn duty is to protect the interests of the people. A few presidents that have achieved extremely low approval ratings are Harry Truman, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, and both George Bush's. Since approval ratings vary, this debate will circle around th...
