Welcome BRIK, welcome judges, welcome spectators to Round 5 of our debate tournament.
I would like to welcome my opponent to the debate by offering him an objective and logical debate. May the most reasonable argument prevail.

For my opening statement, I will lay out our argument.
Public health concerns justify government violation of pharmaceutical patents.
A public health concern that could justify violation will be argued.
For the purposes of this argume...

Hello
First off let me say that this debate will only be about if water boarding for interrogation is Constitutional, not weather its right.
Water boarding for interrogation is Constitutional, because there is nothing in the Constitution that says anything about interrogation. Its says- "Amendment VIII
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."(http://www.whitehouse.gov/kids/constitution/billofrights.html)
THis is ...

Okay, I feel like debating metaphysical stuff, but I don't know which, so here are some topics, if you want to go PRO for the topics I list, we can change them to the negative, so as not to confuse anyone.
1. If we accept agnosticism, you can't prove anything.
2. If life is really but a dream, then we should still live it like it is reality.
3. Empirical evidence is not logically sound.
4. "Beyond a reasonable doubt" is an unreasonable burden of proof. (The argument I have for this will be...

1 debate per person please.
I can't imagine how you can believe we came from monkeys. doesn't it just make more sense to just say we adapted? Just because we changed our environment doesn't mean we automativally can mutate ourselves and just "evolve." When people get mutetions, they suffer from various illnesses. Can you name me ONE mutation that is positive? Just one. That's all I'm asking for. You can't, simply because there is none. We are made in the image of God, our heavenly father, so ...

Definitions:
Agnosticism: One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God or not.
Atheism: Disbelief in or denial of the existence of God or gods.
It is safe to say that no one has ever proven or dis-proven the existence of God. Therefore, atheism is just another faith of a sort, in the final non-existence of a super natural being. The evidence doesn't support the existence, therefore God doesn't exist. Agnostics are more truthful, we don't have support of the ev...

Prostitution should be allowed. It's their bodies and their chose as to what to do with it, as stupid as those choices may be. Whoever hired their "services" would clearly be making that decision and would have to deal with the consequences. There are too many laws restricting life to the way you want to live it....

I will make the introduction to this debate simple:
I believe we should preserve dying languages for the following reasons:
1. Archaeological aid.
2. Anthropological aid.
3. Communication with cultures already in existence in an easier fashion.
I will leave it up to my opponent to determine why this is not enough and will expand on it in my second argument....

The current LD resolution. Come one, come all, and debate me!
Because hate crime enhancements violate free speech, I affirm the resolution, Resolved: Hate crime enhancements are unjust in the United States. The United States Sentencing Guidelines 3A1.1.(a) currently sets down hate crime enhancements as occurring when:
"The defendant intentionally [selecting] any victim or any property as the object of the offense of conviction because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, na...

I think modernity did more harm then good because sex, drugs, wars, diseses, ect. are destroying familys and freinds. Drugs make people more aggressive and suicidel. Also sex is destroying family, friends, ect. It desotrys familys because if the husband or wife is caught looking at porn anywhere they could be fired or get a divorse and then the kids would go without a father or mother. Also in the news and talk shows we hear about teenage girls who had a baby and we hear about the hardship it is...
