For those who don't know, Homo floresiensis, nicknamed "hobbits" are a diminutive human sub-species who are known to have lived on the Indonesian island of Flores as recently as 10,000 years ago, when it is believed a volcano wiped them out. However, Flores is very remote and it is possible that a pocket of hobbits survived the eruption and their decedents are living on the island, undiscovered, to this day.
