Shops that broadcast Christmas adverts in October must be boycotted.

It's not even Halloween yet and already there are Christmas adverts on the telly. They get earlier and earlier every year. By time Christmas finally arrives, everybody is thoroughly sick and tired of the sight of tinsel and the sound of sleigh bells. The kids are already looking forward to it and traditional celebrations such as Halloween on 31st October and Guy Fawkes' Night on 5th November are getting increasingly overlooked in the premature Yuletide excitement. Harrods is a prime example o...
It's time for the Government to crackdown hard on Elton John.

The man has gone too far and it's time he was stopped. Whether you hate and despise him, or merely loathe him with a passion, you have to admit that this over-rated celebrity singer-songwriter is at least one sandwich short of a picnic. Let's look at the facts: He's a married man. Nothing wrong with that, you might say, until you discover he's married…TO ANOTHER MAN! http://www.flickr.com/photos/tobyvs/76700691/ It doesn't matter that he's gay, obviously, and I know that same-sex ma...
Revolution is a neccessity for "evolution" of society

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." "Every Generation needs a new revolution" - T. Jefferson I will let my opponent go first...
It's time the British Government repealed the 1807 Slave Trade Abolition Act.

This archaic Act of Parliament is now over two hundred years old and no longer reflects the reality on the ground in modern Britain. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that privateers should be allowed to send ships over to Africa to round up the natives, transport them back to the UK and force them to work in miserable conditions for no pay; that would be very wrong indeed. Instead, what I propose is a scheme that would make real improvements to the lives of the tens of thousands of...
European Elitism

Europeans with short memories have been looking down their noses at America over the past few years. They tend to forget that 3 genocides have taken place on their watch in the past 100 years (Armenians, Jews, Bosnians). I think that the Euros need to come down off of their high horse and clean up their own backyard. Europeans are not more enlightened then Americans....
Democracy is wrong

I am against democracy. I don't believe every person should get one vote and that majority rules the minority. It may be the best we have, but it is very much flawed. When I try to make a smart decision such as where to eat, I do not ask 9 people and than let the majority decide. I will weigh opinions differently. Someone who has eaten at a restaurant that I'm debating on going to will have more influence with me than 8 people who haven't....
Socialists living under the oppression of capitalism should avoid paying taxes.

The vast majority of public expenditure in a capitalist country such as the United Kingdom is spent on public services such as health, education and social security, which disproportionately benefits socially and economically disadvantaged members of society. (1) Since it is the interests of this section of society that socialists are most concerned in advancing, and these public services are mainly financed through taxation, it might seem logical that a socialist would be insistent that all eco...
The use of politically incorrect language should be avoided.

Not so long ago, my teenage cousins, Cody and Jake, and I were walking through the park when Cody spotted a disabled man sitting unattended in a wheelchair, and he turned to his brother and said: "Jake, I dare you to go and tip that spastic out of his chair." Needless to say, I was horrified and appalled and I turned to him reprovingly and said: "Cody, we don't say ‘spastic', we say ‘disabled person'. Calling someone with disabilities a ‘spastic' can be very hurtful." Mind you, the d...
Taxpayers should be allowed to dictate how governments spend their money.

Let's say that the Poles, the Danes and the Serbs decide to form a federation and they call their new country, I don't know, The Poledanser Republic. Now, in the spirit of true democracy, the government of this newly formed nation allow all tax-paying Poledansers to decide how their money is spent. Naturally, the cost of running the legislature and judiciary would be protected, but beyond that, the taxpayers are invited to earmark their income tax. Here's a worked example: * Annual i...
The US Government should not allow failing financial institutions to go bust.

Pity the poor little rich boy. His father was away on business for the week and on Monday night he borrowed a big wad of his daddy's cash and took it down to the casino. On the roulette table he staked high value chips on obscure bets such as voisins du zero, finales en plein and tiers du cylindre. For nights on end, he was wildly successful, raking in the chips hand over fist. That week he lived an even more lavish lifestyle than he was used to, spending his winnings on the finest food and wine...
