God more likely than no, exists

God's existance can be proven, or at least is the most reasonable explanation. as a note though, i am not saying proven in terms of deductive fact. i'm using it in terms of proponderance of evidence, more likely than not, in a court of law. (proof is known to have double meaning. it can mean evidence or conclusive proof. i'm using it in the former sense. theists are known for being signled out for this phenomenon (miracles converting after nderf.org prohpests etc) over atheists etc. yo...
what one must believe to be saved is not taught clearly... or at all if in proper terms

i ask christians and they say "believe in jesus". then i point out that the devil does. so they say believe he's your savior. then i point out that some believe that different people see that differently... a good message or atonement etc. a fundamentalist would say a good message is not sufficient. so... you have to believe in atonement is one element. some don't believe he's god... is that okay? a dogamatic would start to list things you must believe. then i point out that that's dogmatic, a...

bible contradiction
here is one example of the bible contradicting itself. it's not just a minor thing that could be a transcribing error as it's widespread, even within the same book such as samuel. here is the fast way to look up the verses: http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/saul.html Saul committed suicide. 1 Samuel 31:4-6 Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. So Saul died. 1 Chronicles 10:4 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith...
government should intervene in the transition to alternative energy
why the government should intervene more with alternative fuel. people say the market will take care of itself. in the end, it will. but at what cost in the mean time? we should act now because we'll look back and see how much we've wasted on gasoline. companies say they can make alternative biodesial fuels for a dollar a gallon. (using algae farms, or any organic material using bacteria to make ethanol from hte cellulose material, switch grass and other things more entergy intensive than...
mass murder gun should be banned by statute

"too bad i didn't have my AK47" people often say prolimits on guns people are just appealing to emotion when someone goes on a rampage and shoots a bunch of people.. and in response are saying we should ban machine guns AK's etc. that we're better off with those types of guns. you want to talk about mushy emotional appeal? who ever hears about people not saving themselves, or better yet actually saving themselves, because they had access to an AK47? i never hear about it. i agree it doesn...
As it Stands, Atheism is the Logical Conclusion

I have had this debate many times, both on this site and off. I hope someone will approach this topic seriously. Put simply, my main argument is this: Until some demonstrated, repeatable evidence can be found that definitively proves a deity exists, it should be assumed to not exist. The burden is not on the atheist to prove that there is no God , but the other way around. If someone wants to claim that God does exist, they should carry some proof with their claims. The classic example of...
