Too many people overlook that there are many forms of cultures in our world. I happen to be apart of the cheekyhobo culture from Zing-Zong. I beg pardon to all who I may have offended and pray that you shall see that I am correct in assuming that cheekyhobos are just nice people.
I hope that people will start using the word in everyday passings and I will advocate that it can be good, bad, loving, or just playful. One day I hope all persons can be a cheekyhobo like me!
Before I begin, I wish my opponent good luck and ask that all the voters base your vote on who did the better debating, not who you agree with. First, I urge you to look at the resolution. It clearly states "Cheekyhobo should become an everyday slang OR dictionary word". As my job is to simply conflict with the resolution (and thus my opponent), I advocate that Cheekyhobo should become an everyday slang AND dictionary word. Now, I agree with my opponent with the greatness of the cheekyhobo culture. The humor of the culture is exemplified in these debates (http://www.debate.com... and http://www.debate.com...) while the ability to handle unstable situations (or people) is shown here (http://www.debate.com...). Thus, we can see that the cheekyhobo culture is certainly deserving of its own word. However, my opponent rips off his own culture by not asserting that their word should be in slang and in the dictionary. When in the dictionary, a word is suddenly valid in any situation and can be even used in a debate. Words are only put into the dictionary when the slang use grows so large that it is necessary. An example would be "muggle" (http://dictionary.reference.com...). Thus, my opponent denies the word cheekyhobo large usage by saying it is a slang OR a dictionary word rather than both. However, through the proof that both my opponent and I have given, it is clear that the cheekyhobo culture deserves a word that has large usage and is in the dictionary. Thus, I urge you to vote Con as I have fulfilled my burden and have shown why I am right rather than Pro. |

Ooh. That's gotta hurt :(
I can just imagine the pain of being voted down because of such an argument. Hope you can cream him/her the next time you debate him/her.
P.S. the "Kleptin/Yraelz/Logical-Master" thing is an illogical conspiracy theory at best.
Ouch. No wonder why.
I've actually never participated in a formal debate before, but I could imagine how much it would suck to be beaten in a real debate by a tactic like that :(
25 character limit oy!!!!
Although I try to refrain from using it in serious debates, I belive it is fine in more absurd ones. If needed, I could of argued that the cheekyhobo culture is not proven to exist by my opponent whose has thus fails to fulfill his burden and must automatically lose. However, this would be unfair as my opponent would not have been able to respond. If it bothers you that much, you always have the option of reducing the framework by stating "Con must argue X" in debates you create.
