Goku and Vageta

I always liked the fact that finally Gokuk had a real rival when Vageta came on the scene. But then he became nothing but a stepping stone I dont understand it. Animes with good rivals in them are hard to find. Dare I say Naruto and sasuke? I know for sure s-cry-ed Kazuma and Ryoji or whatever the other guys name is. But Dragon ball z and gt became stupid when no one was as smart as strong nor as cool as goku. Vageta did have his problems of pride and old habits but he got that all out after being maajin vageta. I guess this is more of a discussion so dont draw the sword over the pen just yet.

I have always enjoyed the entire Dragonall Z/GT Saga. I do agree that Vegetta was Goku's first real adversary. The general point behind it all is that once Goku defeated Vegetta,Vegetta realized that there was a Saiyan who was his equal, if not better. The point of the entire saga is that Vegetta learned to protect the planet he came to destroy after learning more about its' inhabitants. This isn't unusual as Japenese anime often includes hidden references to protecting Mother Earth.

Vegetta was not Goku's only true competition. It took the combined efforts of everyone in the Spirit Bomb to defeat Vegetta. It took his son to defeat Cell. Shynron and Broly weren't exactly pushovers either.

I understand well you win this debate.. I lose You are truly a powerful one I hail thee. Although in bleach who is ichigos rival? I would say renji is like vageta getting his ssa kicked all over the place and his power meaning nothing.
