Led Zeppelin: Most Important Band for Modern Rock

My computer pooped out when I was doing this debate!! ;( I went to go see a Led Zep cover band last weekend and it was awesome! Still don't think their the most influential rock band though... hehehe

Zep was a transition from bands of the 60s like The Who to hard rock and metal. Whether or not metal and punk would have developed the way they did without Zep I cannot say, but it certainly influenced modern rock- all popular and influential bands helped form the genre.

Zeppelin is the best band in the history of the world. Hands down!

I would have to say, Led Zeppelin's style did influence many HARD ROCK and METAL bands, but not modern rock altogether. Really, it is a combination of many bands, such as Queen and Black Sabbath, that influences what we hear today. Paranoid was basically a precursor to Punk Rock, as much of the song is reppetitive chords like the punk style. Though I enjoy Led Zeppelin, and it IS a very influential band, I cannot say that it influences modern rock. Still, since your opponent has not set up an argument, and my vote should be based on argument and not opinion, I have to vote for the Pro.
