Pro ~ Round 1
While Sony may have good graphics, Nintendo has games that are more fun to play. Graphics are important but they don't make a game. Fun and enjoyability are what games should be about. Con ~ Round 1
NINTENDO SUCKS!!! Sony has been around and been a big competitor for years now and honestly they have a much more intimedating force than nintendo. Nintendo made the gamecube and the gameboy and then dissapeared. But sony has come out with the PS1, PS2, PS3 and all of which has been on of the best sellers in their generation. If you go to any local appliance store (ex: Fryes, Best Buy) you will find much more items made from Sony than you will find nintendo. According to a recent article from the drudgereport.com Sony is the best system out there. Also nintendo does not sell anything else besides gameing systems. Sony makes sound systsems, T.V's, Cameras, Camcorders, Laptops etc. The list goes on and on and as you can see from my case Sony Is better. Thank You! Pro ~ Round 2
"NINTENDO SUCKS!!!" What kind of an opening sentence is that? What are you 10? Yeah Sony, as a gaming company has only been around sense what the late 90's? Yeah Nintendo has been around sense the mid-80's. Yes Sony is good when it comes to general aplliances but when it comes to video games the should just step down. Let's down about characters now Nintendo has created many of world's most popular gaming franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, and Metroid. What's Sony got? Let's see they've got Kratos, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and they THINK they have Snake who by the way was actually made by Nintendo! Now let's talk in terms of the next-gen systems. The Wii is $250, has maintained that price, and whenever they get them in stock anywhere they sell out within the day! The PS3 was $600, they had to drop it down by $100 in the first year and STILL, in the game stores they're just sitting there on the shelves collecting dust because nobody wants one. Sony should just stick to making TV's and leave video games to Nintendo.(and Microsoft second) Con ~ Round 2
you agreed to all my arguments so ill just extebd. nintendo has created Dk and blah blah but Sony has made Madden, one of the best games in the world which sold more copies than any of the nintendo games. And this along with my other arguments show that I win Pro ~ Round 3
Actually I disagreed to all your arguments as they are faulty. No body wants a PS3 because there is nothing good about it gaming wise. Yes Sony has made good appliances like TVs, CD players, etc. But when it comes to gaming they can't make anything good! You shouldn't declare yourself the victor just because you THINK you're right! You have made no good arguments this whole time that I have not disproved. Yes you're right they have made Madden, that's ONE franchise, face it kid if anyone "sucks" it is Sony. Nintendo has made The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros, Pokémon, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, F-Zero, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros., Kid Icarus, Metroid, the list just goes on. Also let's talk in terms of systems made. Nintendo: Nintendo Entertainment System (Great for it's time) Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Greater for it's time) Nintendo 64 (Revolutionary at the time) Game boy (had some good games) Game boy Color (Had really good games) Game boy Advance (ditto) Game boy Advance SP (very good) GameCube (Great system) Nintendo DS (Currently the best hand held out there) Wii (Best Next-Gen system) That's 10 great systems What's Sony made? Play Station(not bad) Play Station 2 (decent) Play Station Portable (pretty good) Play Station 3 (sucks) That's 4 so-so systems. I believe I have proved by the above statement that Nintendo is by far superior to Sony in terms of gaming. Unlike my opponent I have made very wise and backed up arguments. Please vote for me as the winner of this debate. Con ~ Round 3
first of all sony hasn't been around as long as nintendo and they still have 4 consoles that each sold he best of the year PS1- Created a new way of gaming PS2- is still selling better than a WII or and nintendo console even though its about 4 years old PSP- Created a new Portable way of gaming, watching movies, and listening to music. (no nintendo console has ever done that) PS3- the only console to play blue-ray discs and have internet access Also sony consoles work much faster that nintendo's and have sold more copies than any nintendo consoles For these reasons I urge you to vote con Thank You Member Comments (7)Only members can post comments. CHS, a few things 1)You stated that Nintendo came for a bit, and then went, but in your last speech, you say Sony hasn't been around as long as nintendo. Thats contradicting yourself/ 2) Both the PS3 and Wii have internet access 3) The Wii is actually selling better than PS2 and PS3 4)You state that Nintendo only has games, while sony has tv's, cams, etc, but this debate is about GAMING COMPANIES, so that comment isn't counting for me. So, I vote Pro. But to the Pro 1)State the figures of how many Wii's have been sold 2) talk about revolutionary games(Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Bros, etc) I debate lots of gaming topic, so just tips for both of you! Also, if either one of you wants another debate like this, I'll do it! I support Nintendo, but for debating purposes, I can also support Microsoft, Sega, Sony, anyone. Thanks! 2 Months Ago
Actually, these two companies(We'll only refer to the console development by Sony, since they DO operate in many electronic fields) are very different, but we can compare them- Not quite apples and oranges. More like green apples and red apples... Although I think that much of the appeal has to do with their ad campaigns, not the specs of each system... 2 Months Ago
While I may agree with some of the things tangerineman says, I think that the comparisons you make are wrong, you cant compare a N64 with a PS1, and personally I would much rather play a N64 than a PS1 for many reasons. But really this debate is like comparing apples to oranges, it's all based on opinion. 2 Months Ago
Just going to throw this out there. When there was a choice between N64 and a PS1, everybody played the PS1. When there was a choice between Gamecube and a PS2, almost everybody played the PS2. I've had multiple people basically drop their DS's to ask me if they could play my PSP. I've never seen the opposite reaction. The target audiences for PS3 and Wii are so different it doesn't really matter. The arguments from both side were quite bad. Con's Round 3 was the best except for the "sold more copies" statement. Still not very good or well thought out. 2 Months Ago
Hey Jonathan, I'd be inclined to vote pro if you'd been a little more conclusive. Next time, you might want to bring up the fact that Nintendo is the one taking steps toward virtual reality, the company that keeps trying to move forward. Sony just exploits the desire of people to play video games since they'll buy them 2 Months Ago
CHS . . . Sony did not make Madden, the first Madden was made by EA, and secondly, Sony didn't even have the first Madden game on it's platform, because it wasn't even invented yet. The first Madden game was made in 1989, so you don't have a clue what your talking about. And another thing, Sony hasn't sold as many PS3's as the Xbox 360's or the Wii's. 2 Months Ago
