They should not be eliminated because they lower drop-out rates. They also get kids to exercise in gym.
Hello, I would like to thank you for extending your challenge and I hope that this will be an enjoyable experience. With formalities aside, I will tell you why Extracurricular Activities should be eliminated from the school system. With you saying that it decreases drop out rates in general, overall, studies have shown that extracurricular activities in school are a distraction and therefore lower the grades of students. Without these distractions, students would be able to use the time "wasted" in extracurricular activities could be used on doing homework or studying for a test. You also said that extracurricular activities (as in all of them) keep the students healthy through keeping them active, but not all of these activities advocate for keeping active. Like competitive eating for example. Also in an uncontrolled environment, extracurricular activities can and will expose many students to dangers that would have been avoided had there not been extracurricular activities. A prime example of this is skateboarding, if the student just skates everyday, even with the proper equipment, the chances of the student getting hurt are much higher if there was no skating involved. |

I see that my opponent has failed to post twice, so I would like to politely request that the voters disregard what my opponent may say later on. |
