Superman is better than spiderman

Lasers! Lasers from eyes! Fricken LASERS!!! Did I mention LASERS!?

Sorry I had about half an hour left, I thought I had enough time. Here is my argument

I am CON, so therefore I am arguing that Superman is not better then Spiderman.

The main bulk of my opponents argument deals with Superman's powers.

"Superman has the muscles,he can fly, lasers can come out of his eyes, and hes bullet proof. His only physical weakness is kryptonite"

Well here are Spidermans powers*:

Spiderman can cling to walls, has superhuman strength, a sixth sense ("spider-sense") that alerts him to danger, perfect balance and equilibrium, as well as superhuman speed and agility. He has exceptional control over his web creation,i.e. he can make a swing , a net to bind enemies, a single strand for yanking opponents into objects, strands for whipping things at enemies, and a simple glob to break machines or blind an opponent. He can also weave the webs into simple forms like a shield, a spherical protection or hemispherical barrier, a club, or a hang-glider wing.

Spiderman has "the muscles" as well.

He can't fly but using webs he can use his webs to swings through the streets of New York City, and he can climb walls etc. so he has no hindrance in not being able to fly

Lasers don't come out of Spidermans eyes, and he isn't bullet proof, but he does have the ability to dodge bullets, as he has superhuman speed, and he can see things in slow motion (this is very well shown in the first Spiderman film)

He is also exceptionally intelligent, excelling in applied science, chemistry and physics. He is nothing short at a genius in Science, he is so good at it.

In stories published in 2005 and 2006 (e.g. "The Other" as Logical so logically pointed out), he develops more spider-like abilities including biological web-shooters, toxic stingers that come out from his forearms, the ability to stick individuals to his back, better control over Spider-sense for detection, and night vision. Spider-Man's strength and speed have also increased beyond his original limits.

I'm getting so much help at the mo there really should be no problem with me coming up with an argument... I'll probably end up with the most stupid, illogical thing ever written tho!

Actually, Spider-Man's powers were stated to be mystical based during "the other" storyline. And since magic is one of superman's weaknesses, spider-man's powers could bypass his kryptonian invulnerability and giving the royal beating he deserves.

Actually, Spider-Man is also smarter than Superman. He has beaten characters out of his league before (heck, he nearly killed the hulk on one outing). He could figure out a way to beat Superman even if you disregard the above facts.

Hmm not too sure if I'll be able to defend ol Spidey, I like drawing him but that's about it... I'll do some research though and I won't disappoint you! Promise!
