The CIA should be abolished or reformed.

The CIA should be abolished or at least reformed, because it no longer is interested in American citizens welfare, is a deterent to democracy, has denied American citizens constititional rights, is very inefficent (infromation wise), and stires up hatred against the USA

1) Our CIA no longer cares about our welfare, it cares about its own prosperity. The CIA has billions of dollars in funding, and with some of this money the CIA has not spent it on programs but instead investment in order to get rich (Marchetti, Victor).
Another example is the reasons it had to overthrow Guatamala's government. The CIA had invested in the United Fruit company which had a monopoly on the industry in Guatamala, and since the Guatamalan government was planing on breaking up the monopoly the CIA overthrew it not to make America safer, but to get rich (Marcheti, & National Security Archives).

2) The CIA has overthrown or attempted to overthrow dozens of Democratically elected countries, for example Iran, Chile (twice), Guatemala, and Nicaragua. In the Case of Chile, the CIA helped instal a brutal dictator, Pinochet.

3) The CIA has frequently denied and taken away many American Citizens 4th Amendment rights. The CIA has had illegal (non court approved) wire taps of many American citizens, such as journalists Robert Allen, Paul Scott, and Martin Luther King (National Security Achieve).
Also the CIA as tested drugs on unknowing Americans, such as LSD, and E.Coli.(Wokusch & National Security Achieves).

4)The CIA's priamry stated job and job it was created to do was to gather and analize information in order to prevent America from being surprised by attacks such as Pearl Harbor.
Oddly enough the CIA only spends approximately 10% of its funds on information related areas, and employs around the same amount for information activities. A ration of 9:1 is not efficent (Marchetti, Victor).

5)When the CIA overthrows a democratic govenrment those people are going to be pissed and feel hatrated toward America.
