Xbox (original) is one of the best consoles out there. Or atleast during it's time.

Xbox was an outstanding product for consumers.Being the first console to deliver stunning graphics, ability to play and rip music to the xbox's hard drive, the ability to play dvd's and the ability to connect with millions across the globe.

I would like someone to try and challenge and me. please. i will debate the rest later and keep all my key points once i have a challenger.

My opponent is being unclear as to the resolution thus I will provide a new one. Resolved: Xbox (original) is one of the best consoles out there. First he says its the best and then says at least of its time. Don't let hime get away with this as it puts too large of a burden on CON.

To show why the XBOX is the best console my opponent must weigh the XBOX's specs with that of the following:

XBOX 360
PS3
WII
PS2

Until he does this, I have won the round insofar as the fact that my opponent has not met his burden.

Yes, i may have put to much burden on you but it was pleasing to see someone counter like that. Now to start.

Well the xbox console being the first system to have a built in hard-drive which allows you to save music and game saves was quite outstanding. Some neither the ps2 or wii can do. The fact that the wii can not play Cds or DVDs is one thing the xbox has over the wii. The xbox was also the console that helped jump start Microsoft's entrance in the gaming war.

The Xbox 360 is just the predecessor of the xbox. All the bugs and improvements where then changed and computed into the xbox 360. With out the xbox, mircrosoft's xbox 360 wouldn't have been so successful.

Price wise now a days a regular refurbished xbox from EB Games cost about $45 Canadian. A refurbished xbox 360, that cost roughly $235. Thats a price difference of about $190. The xbox also has a way larger variety games compared to the xbox 360. The xbox has over 300 games for gamers to choose from while the xbox 360 only has about 100 or less.

Going back to the PS2, the xbox has a better processor allowing it to load games faster then the ps2. The graphics are also better. An example is Fifa 07 on Xbox and on PS2. Gamers can see the difference between both consoles.

Now with the ps3. Like a stated earlier now a days the xbox costs about $45 refurbished. The ps3 on the other hand $400. The ps3 has launched less then a year ago meaning that there still may be bugs and glitches as compared to the xbox's launch in 2001, by now most and if not all glitches and bugs have been sorted out. Games? Yes the xbox has way more games then the ps3 does, giving gamers a wide selection to choose from. Platinum hits costing about $15 or less for the xbox while ps3 games costing over $55 dollars.

From all the points i have made above i do believe and stand firmly that the xbox was an amazing gaming console of it's time, and still is.

This is it. My opponent needs to prove that the XBOX is the best. He just admitted that the 360 is the same as a XBOX without the bugs. It does not matter that the XBOX was the original. The 360 is thus better and because of this I have won the round.

Yes, i stated that the xbox 360 had some more improvements over the xbox but my debate was about the xbox being ONE of the best consoles, not the best. Yes the xbox 360 has improvements but overall is it better? and if it is does that mean that the xbox is not one of the best consoles?

Something i must discuss. Modding. Microsoft may not approve of this but however if it's either a software modification (soft mod) or a hardware modification (hard mod) the xbox really unleashes it's full potential. Once your xbox is modded you can turn it into a full media center and i think anyone with a modded xbox will agree. With the ability to: Back up/store games on your xbox's hard drive, Have retro systems such as n64,Game boy Advanced,PS1, Atari and many others. Also with a modded xbox you can customize your xbox dashboard to several different types such as Xbox Media Centre. With the mc 360 skin it allows you to make your xbox startup screens/homepage look just like the one of a regular xbox 360. Again going back to xbox modding,also allowing you to play burnt games,change the LED lights of your xbox and many more. and xbox being a lot easier to mod compared to the ps2, wii,xbox 360 and ps3.

From what i have stated in this and previous rounds xbox is one of the best consoles, or at least for now. Stunning graphics, awesome offline and online game play, easy to find, not very cheap. Only some one mad would not agree that the xbox is an amazing system.

My opponent concedes that the 360 is an improvement from the XBOX.
