Okay, we must look at all the reasons why being poor and young is not necessarily better than being rich and old.

First, if a rich man was born into wealth, he has had a comfortable life throughout his existence. If he is a smart man, he will have used that money to get the most out of life, going on amazing trips, doing amazing things, etc. In short, his wealth allowed him to have a meaningful life that he can look back on happily in old age. A young poor man can't do this.

Next, if the man is rich enough, he could hire scientists to extend his life much younger with stem cell therapy. He needs a new heart, bing! New heart on the way, he needs a new kidney, etc. Then, he would effectively be a rich and young man, rejuvenated by stem cells. Being rich and young is better than being poor and young.

Third, the poor man could have a medical condition, that because he can't afford health care, will kill him very shortly. The rich man has more life left, and with his money, he can make more out of it.

For all these three possibilities, we can determine that being poor and young is not necessarily better.

Quod erat demonstrandum.

Maybe I will, seeing as how that's the only voter so far.

Its intention is to say, my case rests, the evidence is clear. It is presented at the end of an argument to indicate the last statement was the finality of proof.

I'm pretty sure my usage is correct, as it means "that which was to be demonstrated" I am saying I have met my burden of proof. The other side then challenges that I have not, so again, I have to show that I meet my burden, so at the end of my rebuttal I say QED. This goes on for however many rounds there are.

LR4N6FTW4EVA:

For future reference "Quod erat demonstrandum." Indicates the end of all arguments for your side, all proof is in, as it were. Using it in round one is rather silly of you. Using it means there is nothing left to say...so everytime you do use it, you should technically forfeit all following rounds. Try to be more careful with your loose philosophy approach.
