Let me begin by stating the definition of Welfare. Financial or other aid provided, especially by the government, to people in need. - www.answers.com That being said, why should we refuse to help the very people who come to America for freedom and a good lifestyle. They vote for president too, so why should be left in the dirt while we stay rich and happy. If you remember a certain document that states this? I present the declaration of independence! "We hold these truths to be...

It is more likely than not that more people will die from famine and wars caused by restrictions made by the U.N. and environmentalists under the disguise of global warming and saving the planet. Alternative fuel sources such as ethanol are a big boondoggle and a political scam. It takes more energy to produce a gallon of ethanol than it produces not to mention the fact that it pollutes the atmosphere more than gasoline. It also produces less BTU's per gallon than does Gasoline. http://pl...

My opening argument is very simple. 1) Social security is not even. People do not get the same amount of money as someone did 30 years ago. Soon all of the baby boomers will reach retirement age and the social security funds will dry up. Most of these social security funds will come from younger Americans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Security_(United_States)#Claim_that_it_is_a_pyramid_scheme 2) Social security discriminates against the poor, as they pay an extra social security t...

It is my belief that we are currently living in the Last Days, as described in various parts of the Bible. Proof of this argument lies in the prophecy and infallible word of God which describes certain events that will take place in the end times so that persons living in these times will know that it is indeed near the end of the world. Anyone wishing to debate this subject must have an open mind and understand that events unfolding around the world have a tinge of fear and birth pangs of a...

The "Communist Manifesto" written by Marx and Engels is little more than a doctrine explaining why the whole world should engage in war. It spends a lot of time telling people what they should believe history really means and then upon the outcome of Marx's conclusions of all of history, it goes on to inform the proletariat that its only option is war. This doctrine spends little time explaining what a communist society would really look like or how it would sustain itself (is it any wonder it's...

I thank my opponent for taking on an argument that is really a slam dunk case for the con It is quite obvious that America came under attack by terrorist forces on September 11, 2001. This attack was perpetrated by outside foes opposed to our very way of life. We were attacked because we're rich and we're free and the Islamic Fascists, namely Osama Bin Laden and his cohorts want to see our beloved nation detroyed by fire and an improvised nuclear device. Anyone who thinks that someone other t...

First I would like to define terrorism: "The use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes." dictionary.com Also, we are talking about the current President of the United States of America, George W. Bush. I will prove why GWB is a terrorist through two contentions. CONTENTION I: Lies to America. According to the Center for Public Integrity, eight top White House personnel have lied in 935 public statments about Iraq. President Bush led the pa...

My argument is that EU (27 member states) should have one army . 1 - One army for EU would be good politically , it would make them more unite and they would exercise more power . "United we stand, divided we fall. " Aesop 2 - They would spend less money in long term , because they would produce more of the same weapons , mass production . 3 - All military secret technologies would be shared and scientist would cooperate more . "Two heads are better then one ."...

Just for clarification, Dora the Explorer, the little Spanish cartoon character from her self-titled show, is an illegal immigrant (from Mexico). The evidence is clear! a) She's like 4 and she speaks fluent Spanish. b) Her backpack is even Spanish-speaking! Who knows what narcotics you could hide in a Mexican backpack? c) She always needs to find a map, and deliver the "package" that's in her backpack to her destination. That's not weird. d) Swiper is definitely border patrol. ...

The United States Government should stop produce current Jefferson nickels and replace them by making Lincoln pennies worth 5 cents and cease a $.01 piece of currency. Currently, it costs the government 1.3 cents to make a penny and over 7 cents to make a nickel. Seignoirage allows the government to profit off of minting currency, but only when the coin costs less to produce than its value. For instance, the $20 bill costs about 4 cents to make. Due to the negative seignoirage value, th...

We're Growing Fast
Welcome new members! That's pretty much everyone, since we're not yet 2-months old. When we launched the first version, we weren't sure if people would use it. Now we know better, and are in the process of building version 3. We can't share all of the new features; let's just say it's going to be awesome. But, it's going to take a few months to finish the project because it's so big. Keep your suggestions coming.
