Tournament Round 3 #36: "Intense" negotiations with terrorists should happen. I wish good luck to my opponent… Observation 1: Intense- The most important word within the topic of debate is "Intense." Dictionary.com (American Heritage Dictionary) defines intense as, "Involving or showing strain or extreme effort." Observation 2: negotiations- The adjective of intense must be connected to negotiations which are defined as, "To deal or bargain with another or others, as in preparation of a...

ATTENTION: This is intended to be a Policy Debate for the 2008-2009 topic. Thanks and good luck to my opponent… Round 1/2: Constructives Round 3/4: Rebuttals I affirm: Resolved: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase alternative energy incentives in the United States. Resolutional Analysis: The resolution specifies that ONLY incentives need to be "substantially increased" for the affirmative. Certainly the debate can talk about these effects (go...

In the status quo there are over 22 million illegal immigrants in our great country. If half of these immigrants were to produce one child with another illegal immigrant that would mean 11 million more unexpected people in our population. Now i am pretty sure that my opponent will argue that populations naturally balance themselves out but this argument would only be relevant if these were normal circumstances. Our country has never seen an illegal immigration problem like the one we are current...

Okay, I've never tried policy debate before but I've been teaching myself a few things so I'm going to give it a shot. I hope this will be a good learning experience. I think I can do alright but we'll see. But we're using the 2008-2009 policy debate topic of... Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase alternative energy incentives in the United States. The reason I put logical in the beginning of the "topic of debate" is so evidence is NOT required. Bas...

This is meant to just be a simple theoretical debate. I am in support of the following theory... Two objects that are not touching can always get closer. To prove my theory, I want you to imagine a line and a wall. This line stretches to the wall but never touches it. BUT, it can always get closer. Let's just begin it with the line stretching so it gets as close as human eye's will allow it to get. Now I want you to add a "theoretical" microscope that can zoom in on anything. Zoom in so it...

The UK Highway Code states: You should always drive in the left-hand lane when the road ahead is clear. If you are overtaking a number of slower-moving vehicles, you should return to the left-hand lane as soon as you are safely past. Nevertheless, a large number of selfish motorists persist in crawling along the outside lanes at a mere 65-70mph even when the slow lane is empty, thus delaying people behind whose time is more important. The disruption these motoring miscreants create costs t...

We're Growing Fast
Welcome new members! That's pretty much everyone, since we're not yet 2-months old. When we launched the first version, we weren't sure if people would use it. Now we know better, and are in the process of building version 3. We can't share all of the new features; let's just say it's going to be awesome. But, it's going to take a few months to finish the project because it's so big. Keep your suggestions coming.
