Out of pure respect for my opponent, I will give him to post his argument first and last. Having said this, I think I should put down some rules for this debate: 1. We are arguing true AI, which is AI that can think fully and (at the very least) almost exactly like a human being. Definitions from Dictionary.com We will be using the listed definitions for this debate. .Artificial - "Made by human skill; produced by humans (opposed to natural)" .Intelligence - "Capacity for learning, reaso...

December 25th, 2006, 4:10 PM. My family was gathered in the living room, tearing open gift after gift, filled with joy after joy of the satisfaction of receiving what we had asked for that Christmas day. Ah, yes, what a scene it was. Until one precocious present changed it all. My grandmother opened a gift wrapped in green, plaid paper, to find something she had least expected from her son. "It's a new cell phone!" she cried, as she held up a Samsung SCH-u340, all wrapped up in its plastic pr...

first, i will say, i am a windows user, although the rest of my family uses macs. here are the main reasons why i beleive macs are infact not superior to windows. a. widgets whenever i move to a certain corner of the screen, a bunch of "widgets" cover whatever i am currently working on and are simply annoying. also, vista has gadgets, which are, basically the same thing, but are nicely attached to a closeable sidebar on the right side of the screen. b. the window interface in the top ...

There are 162,662,052 websites on the Internet, yet only 65,600,000 of them are active.* The others just take up valuable server space. They are also very irritating because they clog up the search engines, making it difficult to "sort the wheat from the chaff". For example, take a look at this online outrage: http://www.geocities.com/brian_eggleston/ This insult to the Internet hasn't been updated for over five years, yet if you Google "comedy scripts" it's right up there with prope...

Whereas Europe has many high speed rail services such as TGV, Eurostar, Thalys and ICE, and Japan has its famous "bullet trains" people in the US are more likely to undertake inter-city trips by car or plane. As trains use less fuel per passenger mile than a plane or a car, and are, therefore, more environmentally friendly and will reduce America's dependence on imported oil, the US Government should being doing more to encourage investment in high speed rail services....

We're Growing Fast
Welcome new members! That's pretty much everyone, since we're not yet 2-months old. When we launched the first version, we weren't sure if people would use it. Now we know better, and are in the process of building version 3. We can't share all of the new features; let's just say it's going to be awesome. But, it's going to take a few months to finish the project because it's so big. Keep your suggestions coming.
